Phase 2: Build individual capacity & community

In partnership with those who will benefit the most, developing programs which increase individual capacity and build community.

In ATD Fourth World programs, children and adults, including but not limited to those with first hand experience of poverty, gain tools, skills and opportunities to advocate individually and collectively for themselves and for their communities and to contribute to creating systemic solutions. People from all backgrounds benefit in this work from the unleashed expertise of people with direct experience of poverty. Community is built by creating (and teaching) the conditions needed to bring together groups with different experiences of poverty.
