New Computer for New Mexico Street Library
The children at the Gallup, NM, flea market asked us 8 months ago, “What about having a computer at the Story Garden?” (Street Library at the Flea Market) We asked them for their ideas on how to make this a reality. Inspired by their ideas, we began to set-up a box for donations in front of our Street Library. The kids were the most enthusiastic donors. Finally, this January, we were able to buy a touch screen computer and full color keyboard. The vendors’ children, who are regular participants at the Story Garden, were so proud of themselves, saying “We did it! Finally! It’s huge! Fantastic! Awesome!” Some vendors and parents stopped by to look at the computer. Andrew (vendor from the market) spent a little time with us talking about it, and offered to share with us his personal USB internet connection if we need it. We have some ideas for bringing the computer during our family visitations or during the Street Library in Gamerco.
