Appalachia team in the news!

One of our summer interns in Appalachia was interviewed for this story in the Kingsport Times News about our work at Remote Area Medical (RAM), the huge rural medical treatment event that went on this past weekend. From the article:"At another sector of the fairgrounds, 25-year old Abby Grosslein was busy tethering a canvas cover over a patient seating area. Grosslein hails from Wallingford, Conn., a member of the Fourth World Movement that has a Learning Cooperative team in Clintwood."For the final week of her summer internship with Fourth World, Grosslein's first experience with RAM includes anticipation over what will occur Friday through Sunday."I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of different people, meeting a lot of different people and learning some of their stories," she said."What's a good word? Transformation. I've been volunteering here for the last eight days now and it's been pretty empty. But over the last couple of days we are seeing the space growing more and more purposeful. I guess right now is like a pregnant pause. Like the calm before the storm. When dawn breaks Friday, I anticipate an amazing thing happening."Read more: 15th RAM gets set to go in Wise | Kingsport Times-News http://www.timesnews.net/article/9079188/15th-ram-gets-set-to-go-in-wise#ixzz386avxY2f
