🌻📖 As the year ends, we counter poverty by showing up

Over the past weeks, we’ve shared stories from Story Garden that show what it looks like to counter the Multiple Dimensions of Poverty. These stories reflect what the MAP research tells us: Poverty is shaped by constants and aggravators that compound over time and make daily life harder for families.

Story Garden responds by building community.

Story Garden counters the constants of poverty by being a place families can count on. We show up every week. We walk alongside families as they navigate hard choices . We accompany them over time, without rushing or judging.

Story Garden also counters the aggravators of poverty.
We show up on families’ time.
We welcome and embrace differences.
We recognize how challenges accumulate and affect the whole family.
We work to strengthen social identity by creating spaces where everyone belongs.

Across all the stories you’ve read, one thing is clear: Story Garden counters poverty by showing up consistently, accompanying families as a whole, and building relationships rooted in dignity and trust.

As the year comes to a close, we invite you to be part of this work.

Your support makes it possible for Story Garden to continue showing up, week after week, family by family.
